History

The Lincoln Homestead was built circa 1800 by Jacob Lincoln, great uncle to President Abraham Lincoln. It was owned by the Lincolns until 1874, when it passed out of the family. Since then, it has changed ownership many times. Benjamin and Sarah Bixler purchased the Homestead and nine acres of land in November 2019. They embarked on an extensive restoration of the house, with some elements of renovation to update it for 21st century living. The Bixler family now resides in the house and occasionally opens it to the public for tours and educational events.
